One of my all-time favorite Thai dishes is
chicken and bamboo curry. It is usually mildly
spicy, but some restaurants crank up the heat
a bit. I like it both ways.

Another favorite that is good for either
breakfast or lunch is a simple rice on chicken
dish known as kao man gai. The secret is in
the sauces that you add. Many restaurants
have several sauces to add. It comes with
a nice chicken broth soup. You can also get
red pork or crispy pork with this dish...
yum!

Pickled cabbage and scrambled eggs

One of the most popular dishes for the Thais,
especially my guides, is a sour orange fish
curry. This can be very spicy. It has a very
unique taste that some folks kind of need
to acquire before really appreciating this
dish. It's worth trying if you really want
to say you've had authentic Thai food.

A non-spicy pork and hard-boiled egg dish.

Rice porridge. Some restaurants that specialize
in this dish really make some nice additions
including roasted garlic, raw garlic, corriander,
sauces, etc.
